Time For A Catch Up

Hello all!

I thought I would pop by and quickly update you all on what's been happening recently!

So, it's now been 2 weeks since I started at Travelodge. It seems like the time has flown by already, but they do say time passes quicker when you're having fun. Initially it was a challenge getting to grips with everything and to be honest I'm still having my moments, but I am feeling a lot more confident than I did a week ago which is reassuring! This is the job I always searched for, but I did have a moment where I wondered whether I'd actually be good enough to last! But, 2 weeks on and I'm already editing blogs and getting stuck in with the Travelodge processes and best of all, I haven't made any cock-up's yet! (touch wood!)

Today I went for a little walk around Thame while on my lunch break. I've only ever driven through Thame before so I thought I ought to seize an opportunity to explore while the weather was nice and I'm very glad I did. I walked into the town centre via St Mary's Parish Church which looked lovely in the sunshine. It might just be me but I find it really interesting looking at the grave stones to see how old they are. Not in a morbid way, but just to imagine what society and indeed the area would've been like at that time. Thame looks like a town steeped in history with its Tudor style wooden beamed houses and pubs and the cobbled streets and it's a shame I'd never explored this area before as it's such a pretty little market town. Obviously, the sunshine helped a little but when you can see cobbles and period features, you know that you've stumbled into a piece of history! If only I could go back in time....

Pretty in the sunshine: St Mary's Parish Church.

As my romanticised description of Thame may well suggest, I'm actually feeling very happy at the moment. I know that sounds like I'm bragging- I'm not at all- I've just found a place where I actually feel content and that, obviously, is making me feel happier. Kiki, my car, passed her MOT this past weekend which is great. I wasn't expecting her to fail mind you, but this was my first time taking a car for an MOT so I was a little nervous for Kiki. I know I'm not the best driver out there so I really appreciate her for ticking along and putting up with me being...me. This, my new job going well and the fact me and Matthew have already started to make holiday plans for the rest of the year have all contributed to my 'up' mood at the moment. As with many things in life, this happiness may not say constant forever, but at the moment I'm enjoying feeling like this- it's a nice change.

As for the plans, me and Matthew are making, this weekend we are going to Portsmouth to see a very interesting sounding show called 'Anatomy Live' and to also have some Mulie time together. We arranged this last year and even then, I was excited. Matthew on the other hand, while he'll put a brave face on it, doesn't really go in for the anatomy 'stuff' due to his sensitive stomach so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on having a synthetic cadaver being picked apart and it's body parts being shown around the room. Even mum is wondering how he'll get on so I'll be sure to fill her in and maybe even take a picture or two of his face turning varying shades of white!

That's all from me for now but I will come back to fill you all in again before Friday, see you then!
