Yes, that's right! Some of us regular folks and Top Gear enthusiasts get the opportunity to work in the same proximity as the trio and it turns out it isn't too complicated or too-good-to-be-true either. The jobs going are for assistant producers, researchers and runners so whether you have a wealth of TV experience under your belt, or just starting out then this is definitely something worth checking out. To have a browse at the many opportunities that await, go onto Grapevinejobs.com and search for 'The New Clarkson Hammond and May Show'.
News about the ever-so-aptly named 'The New Clarkson Hammond and May Show' was a bit confusing to say the least at times. The trio spend no end of time hopping from one possible contract to another with Netflix at one point being the most probable to snap them up- and they got so close too, however it went quiet again on the signing front and we all lost a little faith again until recently when we finally got the confirmation we had been asking for. They had finally been signed! However the platform was a bit of a surprise for some- Amazon Prime. This will now no doubt heat up an already existing fight between the two streaming services. Many were surprised by the new decision as Netflix has been starting to gather a lot of audience favour of late with subscribers surpassing the 26 million mark. The addition of the 'The New Clarkson Hammond and May Show' would have sent their audience figures soaring again. However looking at it from an objective point of view, this will be a huge move for Amazon Prime in terms of popularity and reach as it was Clarkson, Hammond and May that made Top Gear the huge car shaped global phenomenon it is today and in turn put some serious money in the BBC's wallet, so theoretically the partnership with Amazon Prime will sure follow suit. They must be smelling the money coming already.
So with this in mind, and the pressure to stare down their competition of the new Top Gear line up (oh how ironic this is all turning out to be), the head of recruitment at Amazon must have had a brainwave to imitate their rivals' hiring tactics and bid for the public to get involved- albeit behind the camera. Who knows where this sudden urge for the public touch has come from, but I think I like it. They've begun to really register how important their fans are and how integral their audience's part is in their rise to the top so who knows, the boys' next challenge could be all up to us.
It's not the first time we have seen this seemingly down-to-earth experimental hiring of regular Joe's, Chris Evans and the team from what's left over of Top Gear have also tried this tactic. After he was announced as the host for the Top Gear revamp, he announced that he was holding 'open auditions' in order to find the next big and bold character to host alongside him for the new series in 2016. Anyone from car enthusiasts to mechanics famous or not were invited to audition.
Ever since that announcement rumours about the next presenters, along with the credibility of Evans as a host for the biggest car show in the world, spread like wild fire with the bookies' favourites for host including Jodie Kidd and formula one host Suzi Perry. Evans is still remaining tight lipped about who will join him but no doubt those beans will soon be spilt. On the subject of Evans' Top Gear, I am sceptical. Although he has proved a charismatic radio and TV host, I admit I am a die-hard Clarkson Hammond and May fan and I don't like change but I'll give the first show a view and try to keep my mind open so I can say at least I gave it a go. I have a feeling a lot of other fans of Evans' predecessors will do the same meaning Evans' first show ratings will be through the roof but whether those ratings can be maintained, who knows!

One problem however still remains....some say he has been axed from Top Gear and that his helmet is surgically attached to his head, all we know is that the Stig has bagged a new job at the BBC to team up with Dermot O'Leary for a new Saturday night car show. It's pitch sounds less convincing however, as it puts friends and relatives to the test against the Stig's race times in a bid to win the 'top prize'. Oh dear.....The Stig has been reduced to audience pleasing, slot-filling Saturday night tele! Whatever happened to poor Stiggy?! Yes a job's a job but surely this wasn't the best offer on the table for him. However on the Stig front, Jeremy is rumoured to be overtaking his old bosses in order to mark his territory on the Stig concept, and secure the best Stig replacement for their new show meaning more Evans/ Clarkson rivalry. He has already set his sights high with Formula One champs Jenson Button and Mark Webber being considered. A source has even pitched the driver battle saying, "Stand by for fireworks as the shows battle for the same drivers".- This shall all prove to be a massively interesting, and no doubt entertaining, battle to behold.
From new contracts, to new hosts, rivalling recruitment tactics and squabbles over racing driver acquisition, the fight of the car show is still going strong with representatives from each corner pitching in with their own conflicting ideas on the media battlefield leaving us car fans on the edge of our wits with anticipation. The battles aside, fans are now able to get even closer to the action but if you do decide to go in for a producer role at the new Clarkson Hammond and May Show, be careful to get Clarkson's food order right....
And on that bombshell, it's time to end. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Top Gear/The New Clarkson Hammond and May Show antics soon, there's bound to be plenty!
