WHATS HAPPENING?! No seriously....

Hello there! It's Wednesday so that means we get all current with our (and other people's) affairs!!

....no, I don't mean Facebook stalking the milkman. I mean lets get looking at the news!

Looking at the news lately is like being a student dreading to look at their bank statement scared of the reality of just how far up shit creek they are and whether they will have that proverbial pot to piss in this month. Just when you have plucked up the courage to look with bated breath, you don't have much option these days but to scream WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!

From this 'snap election' causing uproar, to Trump rubbing every fucking country up the wrong way it's safe to say we're a little broken at the moment. Well a little more than a little.

Lets start with the snap election. Now I'm no Andrew Marr so don't take my words for gospel and I certainly don't want my head ripped off for this but at the same time it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that Theresa May has just done what David Cameron did post-Brexit vote. She is effectively saying "I've just realised this job is shit, can someone take it off my hands?" Well at least Cameron had the guts to say words to this effect and walk out behind them. This snap election means that Brexit is going to take even longer- as if this cereal (remember the "Brexit means breakfast" blunder?) wasn't giving this country enough painful indigestion already!

Now it's probably safe to say that being a politician is the last job anyone would want right now and if the past year/18 months is anything to go by, they are all finding the political heat quite uncomfortable. Theresa May to be fair to her has had to deal with the dicey EU negotiations- negotiations which are to be blunt near on impossible. No wonder she wants out in 6 weeks flat. Being PM in a country where you will have to negotiate a beast as uncomfortable and controversial as Brexit is like knowing you have a tricky 9am meeting at work tomorrow that you know you're hate going to because your manager will spout bull shit, colleagues will get into a petty argument amoung themselves and nothing will ever practically get done. After Brexit, it seemed like every politician within a mile radius of it  jumped ship. And if they aren't quitting when the shit hits the fan, they make promises they can't possibly practically or financially keep, or make completely outrageous statements. It's all a huge steaming pile of bull shit which has led the country to vote for the 'least shit party'- who is less of a steaming pile of horse shit?

Well, June 8th we all decide!

Trump on the other hand, he's not so much dodging the job as trying to start a war. I have and always will always believe he is a very dangerous man. Wading into other people's conflicts like a bull in a China shop and causing absolute chaos around him. I know he's an all out American and I imagine he whole-heartedly believes in the concept of 'go big or go home' but for God sake man, reign yourself in. You're going to get your country in a whole heap of trouble that once it starts, you and every other poor sod won't be able to stop it. And as allies of the US, their mess is our mess so I say from across the pond in the UK- please stop for a second and think about the possible consequences of your actions. Think about how much you already have- and will once again- hurt the people you claim to honour and protect in your presidency.

Onto some lighter news now and a reassurance that not everything is going bad in the world; while politics is a shit show, humanity always finds a way to pull through. If you watched the London Marathon over the weekend, you may well have seen for yourself the heroic actions of one runner, Matthew Rees coming to the aid of David Wyeth just as his legs were about to buckle under him. Rees shelved his thoughts of a personal best in order to help his fellow runner finish his race. While I would say that the media have over-peddled this one I will say that this is exactly the news that we should be spreading and producing right now. It showed exactly the way we should all be helping one another. We get too bogged down with media agenda's and our own self righteousness that we forget we all have faults too. This scene of selflessness demonstrated perfectly the message behind the Marathon's main charity 'Heads Together'. Even if it was just for that day, everyone for once united in support of this man's struggle to the finish and celebrated as they both crossed the line. It's always the simple moments of good deed that reassures the world that its not so bad after all. I salute you, kind sir!

To round up I think as a rule, everyone should engage brain before taking any action. You aren't the only person that will feel the ramifications of your actions. So if you are lucky enough to have an influence on the way someone or something works, take that responsibility by the balls and for the love of all that's holy do some good with it. As marathon superhero Matthew Ree's said himself, "it's just being human."

So that's all for today guys, come back tomorrow for 'random things I found...' whether it be from the web or at work, all will be revealed tomorrow. Have a great Thursday!

I'd also like to give a big shout out and congratulations to all the marathon runners- you ran, walked, shuffled....moved continuously for 26 miles!! And all for charity- great work!!!
